Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Draft IRC Operating Framework

The Draft Operating Framework for Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) was recently released at a meeting of the Australian Industry Skills Committee (AISC) and Chairs of the IRCs. Click here to download the Draft IRC Operating Framework.

Several documents were presented on the Government’s changes in the way in which training packages (units of competency and qualifications) are developed and the process by which industry can be involved.

Under the new system, which is in the process of being established, IRCs are at the heart of the process, and these are formed based on standing committees from last year’s Industry Skills Councils, which are no longer funded.
