Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Skills Impact invites you to attend a free workshop, to support the development of national units of competency and skill sets for carbon farming.

Your feedback matters

Sustainable farming and agricultural practices are growing increasingly important, but there are few nationally accredited units, skill sets or qualifications to support training in this area. There is also a growing interest from farmers in diversifying activities and income through carbon farming practices.

It is important that training provides a skilled and flexible workforce for the future. National units and skill sets for carbon farming need to reflect real work experience. So if you work in the sector, Skills Impact would love your input and help.

All you need to bring to the workshop is your knowledge about carbon farming practices in your part of the industry or job role.

Your feedback will help us to develop units of competency and skill sets that will support skills development and training in carbon farming.

There will be further opportunities to be involved in the project process and to provide feedback. The draft materials will be available for feedback on the Skills Impact website in September 2019, and again for validation in month 2019.
