Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Still time to comment on draft skills standards

Ag Biosecurity & Emergency Response Project

The documents capturing skills standards in biosecurity and emergency response are still available for comment until 9 December.

Thirteen units of competency have been updated to reflect the need for consistent biosecurity measures throughout the supply chain, from time of purchasing through to growing, transport and sales.

Conservation & Land Management Project

You still have until 16 December to provide input on the draft skills standards that have been developed in conservation and land management.

Seventy units, two skill set and nine qualifications have been reviewed, and seven new units developed to address skills needs across a broad range of industry subsectors.

It’s important that these skill standards reflect the cultural and geographical diversity of this complex sector, and they are suitable for use in all environments.
