Horticulture & Nursery Project
The sectors of production horticulture, nursery production and retail nursery make up part of the same supply chain and share many of the same opportunities and challenges.
Units, skill sets and qualifications in these areas have been reviewed in consultation with industry and updated to better reflect changes in job roles due to new technologies, equipment and advances.
Rural Merchandising Project
Rural merchandising plays a key role in providing specialist products and services to farmers and horticulturalists. These skills standards need to be kept up to date to reflect relevant practices, markets and products.
One qualification and 12 units have been reviewed to capture the skills needed to work in rural merchandising, including the ability to provide information about large expensive machinery, new technology and farming chemicals.
