Aquabotics, such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), underwater drones and biosensors, are changing the way work is done in the aquaculture and wild catch industry. With these new technologies, many tasks that were previously performed manually can now be done remotely from a control room.
Final draft skills standards for operating and understanding these new technologies are now available for comment and validation. They have been revised to address the different ways technology is impacting different job roles and the skills workers need to effectively work in changing environments.
