Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Digital Transformation

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has established a Digital Transformation Expert Panel to provide advice on how the VET system can most effectively respond to digital change across industry and its impact on the nation’s workforce.

The Panel is approaching this work through the lens of Australia’s existing workers and their need to upskill and reskill in response to digital transformation. They will submit a Digital Transformation Skills Strategy to the AISC for consideration at the end of 2020.

The Panel has released an online Discussion Paper which canvasses views on five key areas of focus: training products, teaching and learning, learner support mechanisms, industry leadership and system settings.

The discussion paper is available for comment until 9 October 2020.
