Flour Milling Project
The skills used by flour milling operatives are similar to those used across other large scale food processing environments and are impacted by similar factors, such as increased automation. As the machinery used in milling becomes more complex, the skills needed by millers are changing, with workers needing to be across a larger part of the process.
Thanks to your input, draft qualifications, skill sets and units have been further updated to reflect these skills. The documents are now available for validation.
One unit is also available for broader consultation and comment, as it was developed as a result of feedback received on the previous drafts.
