Landscaping Project
Landscapers are responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of many green spaces within our homes and communities, adding to their liveability and value. To do this they rely on skills in horticulture and plant care, as well as expertise in working with a range of materials and with other professionals.
There is still time to provide comment on updated qualifications and skills standards that have been revised to reflect current technology, practices and terminology. Two units of competency have also been developed to address the increased use of computer-aided design (CAD) software as a standard work practice and the increasing trend to use outdoor tiling in landscape projects.
Two qualifications with low enrolments are also proposed for deletion. Subject matter experts and the IRC are seeking your feedback about these and have developed some key questions to gather industry insights and opinion on the matter.
The draft documents will be available for broad industry feedback on the Skills Impact website until 18 December 2020.

Parks and Gardens Project
Australian parks and gardens are enjoyed by thousands of people every year, with some also providing a home to native and unique species, as well as historic structures. In recent times the skills requirements of jobs in the sector have been changing as industry focuses on more sustainable practices to promote biodiversity, adapt to climate change, and acknowledge the cultural significance of these spaces.
You have until 18 December to provide feedback on draft qualifications and skills standards that have been revised to reflect current terminology, equipment and practices used in caring for parks and gardens.
