The final drafts will be available for your comment and validation over the next couple of weeks, along with a summary of feedback provided and how it has been used in the final drafts.
Crops, Pasture and Seed Project
Increasing global demand for food and fibre, and the need to produce drought resistant, higher yielding, and more nutritious crops, is driving innovation in seed production and processing.
Consultation is taking place throughout this project to review qualifications and skills standards so that they meet the needs of industry. Note that the draft unit for AHCSPO3XX Process planting seed is still available for feedback from 23 April – 4 June 2020.

Dairy & Milk Harvesting Project
The technology and skills used in the milk and dairy harvesting sector are expanding as new robotic technology and automatic milking systems are introduced. However, traditional methods are still used and valued in a range of settings. The national qualification and skills standards for this work are being updated to reflect the vast array of technologies and skills used.
Landscaping Project
Landscapers require skills in horticulture and plant care, as well as for working with a range of materials. Equipped with such expertise they are able to enrich people’s lives with well designed, constructed and maintained green spaces in homes and public spaces.
Qualifications and skills standards for this sector are being updated so that they reflect current industry trends, support safe work practices, and promote clear career pathways.

Parks and Gardens Project
The skills required in the parks and garden sector are changing as industry focuses on more sustainable practices. Qualifications and skills standards for work in parks and gardens are being revised to reflect current terminology, equipment and practices, including sustainable use of materials and workplace health and safety requirements.
Skills for Land Rehabilitation (Mined Land) Project
Managing Australia’s various ecosystems requires similar skills, even when working in vastly different environments. However, additional expertise is required to rehabilitate land after it has been used for mining. Industry is driving a process to draft skills standards to help deliver training in this sector.
