Draft Skills Standards for Australian Native and Bush Food Available for Validation

The Australian native and bush foods industry is increasing in size, as consumer interest builds in its cultural and nutritional value. Working with native Australian plants requires unique skills across the supply chain, which have not previously been described in national skills standards.

Feedback has been collected on a draft set that describes the skills required to establish an Australian native and bush food business. As part of this feedback industry indicated the need for an additional two skill sets for harvesting and post-production of native and bush foods, which have now been developed. The need for a unit to address skills for wild harvesting of plants and/or seed has been identified and developed.

The draft documents are now available for your comment and validation.

Input is invited to check that the skill sets and units are accurate.

For more information and to provide validation, visit the project page.
