The AISC has published a communique from their meetings on the 25th and 26th of February. One of the key themes the AISC focused on over the two meetings was continuous improvement, which includes the ongoing work on further streamlining the training product development system, including the AISC’s processes. The AISC is also focused on creating stronger alignment between training packages and current and emerging job roles, job families and career pathways.
Three Skills Impact projects approved for 2019-20
At their meetings, the AISC approved three new training package projects for the agriculture and horticulture industry, and timber and forestry industry for 2019-20.
Agriculture and horticulture industry project
The project will include a review of the following unit sectors:
- Conservation & Land Management
- Nursery Production
- Production Horticulture
- Biosecurity and Emergency
- Merchandising & Sales
Timber and forestry industry projects
These two new projects will include a review of qualifications and skill standards for:
- Timber truss and frame estimating and design
- New harvesting technologies
