There is still some time to provide feedback on the first round of draft units of competency for the Equine Safety in Training Project. Consultation on these first drafts is open until COB Monday, 3 April.
This stage of the project is underway to review units of competency aimed at improving safety, quality and consistency in the delivery of equine training. The next stage will commence in April and will examine skill sets and qualification structures, and the opportunity to further refine units.
This project will impact the ACM Animal Care and Management; AHC Agriculture, Horticulture, and Conservation and Land Management; AMP Australian Meat Processing; and RGR Racing Training Packages.
The Technical Advisory Committee, Racing Industry Reference Committee (IRC) and Rural and Related IRC are currently seeking feedback on the first drafts of 156 units of competency, including three proposed new units.
Please feel free to register your interest to keep informed of project updates.
You are welcome to provide feedback on as many draft units as you would like. Please also feel free to share the drafts with others who may be interested in providing feedback.
Note that relevant qualifications and skills sets will be reviewed in the next round of consultation on this project, following the development of these units.
