Green Walls and Rooftop Gardens Units and Skill Sets Available for Further Feedback

The Amenity Horticulture, Landscaping and Conservation and Land Management IRC reviewed draft recommendations from this project. Issues considered included the nature of the occupation and job roles, RTO delivery and the volume of learning in the units as designed.

After further consultation with industry experts, the IRC have decided that more work needs to be undertaken to better describe the skills being trained, ensure that learners have adequate opportunity to gain the require competencies and facilitate the ease of delivery.

Feedback is sought on key updates to the draft units AHCGRI501 Design Roof Gardens, Vertical Gardens and Green Walls and AHCGRI401 Construct Roof Gardens, Vertical Gardens and Green Walls. Updates have been made so that the different knowledge and skills required for design and construction of roof gardens compared to green walls and facades can adequately be covered. While this will result in two additional units being developed, each of those units will better match the volume of learning required for the job functions and aid the ability of learners to safely deliver products to consumers.
