Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Updated Skills Standards for Food and Beverage Industry Available Soon

Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, the skills standards reviewed and developed for a range of job roles across the food and beverage industry will soon be available for use. The final draft qualifications, skill sets for the projects below are undergoing an edit and equity and quality assurance process, including being reviewed by the state training authorities (STAs). Diploma & Advanced Diploma in Meat Processing in Final Stages

Thanks to the input of all involved the updated Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Meat Processing will soon be published and available for use. They have been provisionally endorsed by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) and have now been forwarded to the State and Territory Ministers. They have undergone an edit and equity and independent quality assurance process, including consideration by the Meat IRC and State/Territory Training Authorities (STAs/TTAs). Validate Draft Qualifications for Greyhound Racing Careers and Jockeys

Your feedback on two draft qualifications has been used to inform further updates to the drafts, which are now available for validation and comment. The Certificate II in Racing Industry has been revised so that it applies to skills required across all codes, including thoroughbred, harness and greyhound. It includes skills for understanding animal behaviour and welfare, and working in a manner that is healthy and safe.
