Permaculture, Organic Production & Composting Skills Standards Still Available for Comment

With increasing interest in sustainably and locally grown produce, an expanding number of producers are turning to systems based around principles of permaculture, organic farming and composting.

There is still time to have your say on qualifications, skill sets and units that have been drafted to reflect the current skills need of the permaculture, organic farming and composting sectors.

Skill sets have been developed and revised to address key skill areas and qualifications have been reviewed to support the viability of training delivery. Existing units of competency have been revised to  improve their relevance and clarity and remove barriers to assessment. Some units are proposed to be merged or replaced to reduce duplication within the system and streamline learning. One new unit of competency has been developed to describe skills for the application of permaculture principles in sustainable community development and bioregional strategies.
