Skills in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) are critical to producing high quality and consistent pharmaceutical products. Feedback from industry indicated that some of the national units of competency used to train learners in pharmaceutical GMP were not accurate to current job functions and work environments.
Thanks to the contributions of everyone involved in this project, the units that describe skills in pharmaceutical GMP have been updated and are now published on the national training register (training.gov.au). They have been updated to clarify how skills in GMP are demonstrated, reflect current industry practice, remove duplication of information and to align with current Australian GMP requirements.
The units were endorsed by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) and State and Territory Skills Ministers, following an edit and equity and independent quality assurance process and consideration by the State/Territory Training Authorities (STAs/TTAs).
