The qualifications, skill sets and units of competency that were reviewed and developed as part of the Racing Project are now published on training.gov.au. It follows submission from the Racing and Breeding Industry Reference Committee and endorsement by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) at their meeting on 5 June 2018.
The new and revised racing qualifications, skill sets and units are published within the RGR Racing and Breeding Training Package version 2.0 (published on 05/07/2018).
What does this mean for training providers?
Registered training organisations (RTOs) may now apply to have the new qualifications, skill sets and units added to their scope of registration. RTOs who already have the qualifications, skill sets and units that have been updated as part of this endorsement have 12 months to transition to delivering the updated qualifications, skill sets and units, from the date of publish. For more information, visit the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) website.
A Companion Volume Implementation Guide has also been produced to help training providers implement the new and revised qualifications, skill sets and units. These can be downloaded from the project webpage (linked below) or VETNet.com.
