You still have the opportunity to provide validation and further comment on the qualifications and skills standards under review as part of the below projects.
Ag & Horticulture Core Skills Project
A set of core skills underpin Australia’s agriculture and horticulture industries, spanning varied sectors and work environments. This includes skills in work health and safety, environmental practices, quality assurance procedures, and workplace recording, as well as skills to support infrastructure and to coordinate and facilitate community groups.
Draft qualifications, skill set and units are still available for validation and further comment.
They have been updated so that they more accurately reflect job roles and functions and so that they can be accessed by learners with the appropriate skill level.

Permaculture, Organic Production & Composting Drafts Available for Validation
Keeping the national skills standards for permaculture, organic production and composting up to date is important, so that future learners can be equipped with the skills to provide for human needs in a way that works with natural processes and ecology.
There is still time to provide validation and comment on qualifications and skills standards for permaculture, organic production and composting.
Following initial feedback, the permaculture units have been updated to describe assessor requirements; the organic production units have been updated to reflect necessary skills in compliance and certification schemes; and the composting units have been updated to include reference to relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
Your input is encouraged so that the units, skill sets and qualifications match real job functions undertaken by graduates.
