Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Skills Impact is leading the development of the following cross sector projects, in collaboration with the Australian Industry Skills Committee (AISC), the Australian Department of Education and Training, Industry Reference Committees (IRCs), Skills Service Organisations and other stakeholders.

Automation Skills Project

We are seeking your feedback on how automation will impact your organisation and the skills required by your workforce. As communicated in a news alert on 24 August, feedback is being gathered through an online survey until 5 September 2017. Read more and provide feedback.

Environmental Sustainability Skills Project

Initial research has identified three focus areas for further investigation: environmentally sustainable production methods and energy management; natural resource management and waste handling; and consumer/market driven sustainability practices. Broad Industry feedback on workforce skill needs will be sought through an online survey in September. Read more, register your interest for updates.
