This past year saw many unprecedented events take place, which brought about many challenges, but which also highlighted the essential services and specific skills of the industries we work with. These industries contribute over $84bn to gross domestic product and employ 875,200 people. It is vital that these industries are supported by national skills standards that reflect their current and future skills needs.
Thank you for your contributions and support this year to improve industry skills.
In 2019-20 more than 2,900 stakeholders were engaged in the process to review and improve dozens of qualifications and hundreds of skill sets and units of competency.

This work would not be possible without the dedicated work of the 12 Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) that we support, and who represent more than 120 industry sectors. It also would not be possible without the work of subject matter experts, state and territory training authorities, industry training and advisory bodies, and the numerous industry and training providers consulting their networks and sharing their expertise.
From all of us at Skills Impact, we would like to wish you and your family a wonderful festive season and a happy new year.
