At this time of year, many of the projects are approaching publication, meaning the new and updated qualifications will soon be made available for use via TGA.com. The Seafood Industry Projects have already been endorsed and published on TGA, giving the opportunity, for industry to work with RTOs so that in time, industry will have access to improved qualifications and skills standards. These standards will incorporate the essential skills for managing biosecurity issues and threats, advancements in technologies, regulations and compliance. But there are many more projects awaiting endorsement by the AISC, after which they’ll be published too.
At the same time, work has begun on some exciting new projects, covering skills in areas such as Agronomy; Biosecurity and Emergency Response; Conservation and Land Management; Food and Beverage Processing, Medicinal Crops and more.
All these projects mean there are plenty of opportunities to have your say on the future of skills in your industry.
The best people to describe the skills and knowledge requirements of a specific job and work function are those who have direct experience in that role. That’s why all project work depends on the expertise of industry stakeholders.

- Express interest to become a Subject Matter Expert and be part of the process to define what skills are needed in your industry. See the project page for each new project for information on who to contact.
- Provide feedback on the documents. Have your say on the draft qualifications, skill sets and units of competency that the SMEs help draft. There will be two rounds of feedback on every set of documents.
